Atlas Sound feat. Noah Lennox [Panda Bear] - "Walkabout" (Logos - Kranky 2009)

Ok. Bradford Cox is one of the most talented and admirable musicians of our time. I realize some may think this is a seriously bold statement, but come on. The guy is incredibly prolific. From the Deerhunter records to Atlas Sound with dozens of those little digital 7"s and micromixes in between, Cox has proven that he is not just some guy who writes nice tunes, but a real artist. He is completely emerssed in what he does, and as a fan and a musician, I find him infinitely inspiring.

Alright. I've gushed a bit to much.

Many of you may be aware of the controversey that surrounds Atlas Sounds' (Cox) 2009 release "Logos." If not, Last year, before Deerhunter's Microcastle LP was released, a fan was able to access Cox's unprotected mediafire account, causing the subsequent leakes of Microcastle's bonus disk "Weird Era Cont.", and an unmastered version of "Logos." Cox went into a fit on his blog, proclaiming that he was going to trash the unfinished record and just record a new one. Luckily for us, he seems he has decided to finish his record, which will be released on October 20th on Kranky.

Cox describes "Logos" as "...an album that was recorded all over the world. It's not about me. There are collaborations with other musicians. The lyrics are not autobiographical. The view is a lot more panoramic and less close-up. I became bored with introspection. "

"Walkabout" is a collaboration between Cox and friend Noah Lennox (Panda Bear) of Animal Collective. It is by far my favorite track. Enjoy!
